The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Saria’s Song (Lost Woods) – Arranged for Easy Harp with Chords

The sheet music offered here is for “Saria’s Song” or “Lost Woods” from the game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It is composed by Koji Kondo. This arrangement is for easy harp and does have chords for the more inventive.

Obviously, one can use this version for the piano, too. Or take the treble clef melody to play on any instrument one wishes to. In fact, if you ignore the bass clef line, this is essentially a lead sheet.

I actually think this sounds nice at a slow, contemplative pace, as in quarter note = ~80, which gives room for more movement in the left hand. I thought it was a slow, sweet song. However, I believe it is actually something like quarter note = 140. (That was a big surprise when my ensemble set into it at the frenetic pace at a TowerCon this year. I threw out all the delicately ornate left hand touches I had practiced while alone for the bare minimum. In other words, I played the arrangement below.) This arrangement can definitely be sight-read at 140 without trying very hard.

I have no real style guidance to offer. I think it sounds a lot better slow and gentle, like a lullaby of the trees, but I have never played the game and have no idea of where it features of what happens during it.

Thank you for sharing this! I’m playing my harp at a memorial for someone who was an avid video game player and I hope that this song will bring some good memories of her when I play it.
